Hunts Open and updated results...

Well, I'm glad that's over and we can get on to some sea sailing at long last (although I do appreciate that I might regret saying that). Not one of my better events, capped off nicely by a flat tyre on the M11. Thank you Marcus - he drove down to the junction at Stansted and then back North again to junction 9 to deliver his spare wheel. I solemly promise to put my spare wheel in the Land Rover next time!! A lesson for us all...

Anyway, the bump on the head is going down and I am looking forward to sailing at Creeksea again tomorrow - wind permitting.

Before I look at the overall results of the Eastern Series post-Hunts - what a result for Daren!! Well done mate-very impressive speed and persistance at working your way through. I felt for Ian Miller in the last race though - a good solid lead lost on a very bizzare beat - tough luck that.

Here are the results to date - I've added a discard to reflect the true standings...

  1. You really should carry a spare tyre - its a legal requirement and the AA etc won't help you out. However we can now all call the MA - Margaret Assist - a pukka roadside service

  3. GOT AWAY WITH IT - TWICE!
In a similar dash to briney water as Chris, I spotted some idiot steaming up behind me in a dark car, really tanking it as I was doing nearly 80 on a clear road. Please note Cambs POLICE cars are dark blue with yellow detailing!!!
Did the next ten miles at 59mph, sweating & waiting for the pullover, until they turned off at March, phew!
The speed gods got their own back as I joined the A47 single carriageway immediately behind a Tesco lorry doing 38mph all the way!
Having had to stare at TESCO for an eternity I stopped at their Kings Lynn store for shopping, curry,& fuel, only to wonder why my car would not fit in a double bay at the quiet end of the car park?
The mast had slid back, & was hanging 3 foot over the transom, only stopped by the mast foot jamming in the mast support!!! I had only tied it at one end & obviously not very well!
