Eastern Champs

Blimey! I'm exhausted but relatively intact and so is Mutley. A great weekend and a fantastically close series. Very, very hard racing with not an inch spared anywhere in the fleet.

I hope that those that made the effort enjoyed themselves - the Phantom must have made an impact as we hurtled past everything else afloat (with the possible exception of some scary multihulls).

The Osprey Class have suggested that next year we should combine and enjoy a formal dinner with them at the RCYC - it would be great if we had more boats than them next time!!

The results - well, Simon had a deserved victory and I got the feeling that Titch might have just been getting into his stride - James also looked fast in his new boat - the racing just gets closer and harder at each event.

The results :-

1 1269 The Kitchen Simon Feildon
2 1175 Alice John Wayling
3 1255 Snakebite James Case
4 1293 Dilligaf Robin Toozs-Hobson
5 1128 Mittens Matthew House
6 1278 Mutley Chris Roberts
7 1209 Caspar James Harvey
8 1300 Mudsquatter John Torrance
9 1249 Alan Tolley
10 1350 Red Demon Ken Daniels
11 1259 Sweet Chariot Jez Taylor

Eastern Champs

Are you like me and wondering when you'll ever have another race against your bestest friends in the fleet? I can't believe that we have had such a big gap in the calendar, although I guess that had we planned any more events for July/August everyone would have said it was too many!

Burnham Week looks like it will provide both a great social event and a pre-Nationals warm up. The clubs in Burnham are all planning social events and we really will be spoilt for choice as to which to grace with our presence.

I will be putting another post up on the class website shortly to ask who's going and try and whip up some enthusiasm(?) from the usual suspects.

Can't wait....
